Tree functional traits across Caribbean island dry forests are remarkably similar

This study examined plant trait variation across Caribbean tropical dry forests, finding that despite occurring in climatically distinct regions, these forests are surprisingly functionally similar. A key finding is that their plant species possess larger seeds compared to continental dry forests, strongly suggesting that animal dispersal is a primary driver shaping the plant communities on these islands.
